FMP: Texture

Here are a few photos of an illustration I'm doing at the mo, I've finished about 2% of it. I have a group crit tomorrow, which I am a little nervous about as most people in my year are a bit quiet and dont give out harsh constructive feedback. But hey ho, I've done enough work to show so It will all be fine.

Ps. My studio space is so brown at the minute!

I just thought that should say thanks to all the lovely comments that I receive on this blog. I should reply to each one, but sometimes I forget, or I'm in a lazy mood, so I'm saying thanks now. It seems I have an awful lot of lovely followers. Ta very much.

Art Day

A few photos from my visit to the Baltic and Outsiders galleries yesterday.

Doodle

Here are a few examples of the print designs I've been working on recently. Its been fun to play around and doodle the past few days. I've been quite inspired by Scandinavian and 1950s textile design.

George Shaw

I visited the Baltic gallery today, one exhibit really stood out and amazed me. The above images are a collection of landscape paintings by George Shaw. Shaw paints with Humbrol, a paint used in model and kit making, which reminds me of little boys painting up toy cars ect. I think his work is a beautiful commentary on English housing estates, I found them really comforting for some reason.

RE

Paul and I are up in Newcastle for reading week. We had a really lovely day in the country side today, we shopped in RE, had lunch in an amazing pub, and visited some family friends. The photographs show how beautiful Re is. We bought quite a lot of lovely things that were hard to resist.
